JKA Well Drilling & Pumps provides water well drilling, well development, well rehabilitation, and well decommissioning services throughout the Puget Sound region.
Though we primarily work for residential customers, we can and do provide a range of services to municipal and commercial clients. The clients include Toll Brothers, DR Horton, 3 Kings Environmental, Universal Land & Construction, Nelson & Sons, Snohomish County, Olympic View Water & Sewer, the City of Sultan, King County, Lake Forest Park Water District, and many others.
We can provide turnkey water well construction services, including well drilling, well pumping tests, pump installation and electrical pump controls, water line installation, well house construction, and water filtration & treatment system installation.
Additionally, JKA can provide well decommissioning, test wells, drilling for non-water related exploration, deep monitoring wells, injection wells, and cathodic protection wells. JKA also provides well inspections, water testing & sampling services, water filtration for common and health related water contaminants, and water system service for single family and group water systems.
Well drilling in and around Duvall, Washington, is typically done for residential requirements, though some home owners have wells dug for irrigation water, and some farms still have water supply wells for dairy cows and for watering crops.
For domestic wells serving a single home in Duvall and King County in general, all well sites MUST be approved by King County Department of Health. King County will only allow for well siting requests to be submitted by a Washington State licensed engineer or septic designer.
For shared and group water systems, the well site must also be approved by King County or Washington State Department of Health. Again, an engineer is required in Washington to site the well, and then to submit the water test results to Washington State along with the plans for the water system. Group water systems serving 0-14 connections are considered GROUP B water systems, and after 14 connections, the system becomes a GROUP A. Typically, water rights are required in order to obtain approval for more than just 6 connections.
Irrigation water wells in Duvall and King County can be sited by the driller, JKA Well Drilling & Pumps, prior to drilling. You will need a copy of you and your neighbors as-built records to verify we’re adequately setback from potential pollution sources.
Wells drilled East and North of Duvall, around Stossel Creek, Mountain View, and Cherry Valley are often drilled into the volcanic bedrock of the area – a volcanic tuft or basalt. Some of these wells can be quite deep, and the final depth is often dramatically different from well to well. If water is found in the well prior to hitting rock, the wells are completed in what is known as Glacial Till, or Alluvial Sediment if around a creek. These wells often make an adequate supply for a home, but water quality can sometimes be an issue, and higher volumes of water required by irrigation systems can be difficult to obtain.
Wells drilled to the West along Snoqualmie Valley and upon Novelty Hill, Union Hill, and Woodinville-Duvall RD are often in glacial till. Typical depths range from 60 to 200 feet, but some of the higher production wells on this hillside can go quite deep – 300 to 500 feet below Snoqualmie Valley is not unheard of. Additionally, arsenic can be found in the water wells located in this area, though it is often at a level that is treatable by King County standards.
JKA Well Drilling & Pumps is the first drilling contract in the north Puget Sound area to provide Dual Rotary drilling technology for traditional 6-IN to 24-IN diameter wells. With dual rotary drilling, casing can be advanced successfully and productively through boulders, rocks, cobbles, and caving materials, often without additional project costs.
If you have a difficult drilling project in your future, we have the machine for it!
